Community Safety at GlutenChat

GlutenChat is a community built on trust, accuracy, and compassion. Our safety guidelines exist to protect every member — especially when it comes to food safety information that can directly affect people's health.

Our Core Safety Principles

1. Medical Accuracy First

When sharing information about gluten safety, cross-contamination, or medical topics, please ensure your information is accurate and based on reliable sources. Misinformation about gluten safety can cause serious harm to people with celiac disease. If you're unsure, say so — and encourage others to verify with their healthcare provider.

2. Respect Individual Sensitivity Levels

Celiac disease and gluten sensitivity exist on a spectrum. What works for one person may not work for another. Never pressure members to eat foods they're uncomfortable with, dismiss their concerns as excessive, or suggest that someone is "too sensitive."

3. Restaurant Review Standards

When reviewing restaurants, please be specific and helpful:

4. No Medical Advice

Members may share personal experiences, but no one on GlutenChat should provide medical diagnoses, tell others to start or stop medications, or recommend specific treatments. Always encourage members to consult a qualified healthcare professional.

5. Be Kind to the Newly Diagnosed

Being diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity can be overwhelming and emotional. Please be patient, supportive, and non-judgmental with new members. We were all beginners once.

6. No Bullying or Harassment

GlutenChat has zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, or personal attacks. Disagreements about gluten science are welcome — personal attacks are not.
